Civil War & Reconstruction
National Constitution Center | Philadelphia, PA
From 2018-2019, Laura worked with NCC’s exhibits team to create this 3,000 square foot exhibition exploring the American experience before, during, and after the Civil War. Through interpretive panels, artifact preparation, and digital interactives, Laura helped illuminate the importance of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

As acting Registrar, Laura coordinated, insured, and conditioned 120 artifact loans for the exhibition.

Using best practices of exhibit label writing, Laura wrote to convey a diverse array of lived experiences during a troubled time.

Working with mount-makers, art handlers, and the Exhibits team, Laura helped ensure objects were securely installed.
